Testimonial, Lending a Helping Hand to a Foster Mom, NJ Dog Trainer
First time foster mom, Nanci, felt a little overwhelmed. You see, Nanci has a family – a husband, young children, and two dogs. Her senior dog, Max, is a Sheltie, and her adult dog Coco, is a boxer. Nanci was unprepared for the energy that her beautiful foster puppy, a young Pit Bull, Allie, brought to her already busy life.
I believe strongly in supporting rescue in all of it’s forms and have been active in rescue, well… forever. I work with rescues and shelters to help dogs find foster and forever homes. I work equally hard to keep dogs in those homes.
With lots of hard work, and the help of sleepydog training this foster girl found her forever home! Yes, Allie’s foster mom fell in love with her and adopted her.
This is what Allie’s foster mom turned adoptive mom wrote –
Sarah,
I just wanted to thank you for all the help you gave me in the beginning with Allie. She has made our home so complete and her and Coco are inseparable. I think back to those early weeks and I don’t know what I would have done without you.
I just wanted you to know how much it meant to me.
We found a wonderful doggie day care for Allie where she goes once a week to be socialized with other dogs. She does have a bit of unpredictable excitability which is getting better as time passes and with exposure to others. the accidents are at a minimum, the destruction is extremely rare and manageable, and she’s just such a pleasure.
Thank you so much for all you do for these animals, and for the time and advice you gave to us.

Sometimes all it takes is a little help from your friends. Kudos to you Nanci. This happy ending would not be possible without such a devoted foster mom.
Sweet dreams, Allie. You deserve them.
A sleepydog is a happy dog.
