meet gia, a cute, sweet little puggle. gia’s mom called us because gia was not housebroken and nothing they had tried worked. you see, gia was a breeder dog for 5 years in a puppy mill. at the puppymill she lived in a small battery cage in her own pee and poop. basically she was conditioned to live in excrement. luckily, she was rescued and adopted.
puppy mill dogs are notoriously difficult to housetrain, and gia was no exception. we told her family that we couldn’t guarantee she could be housebroken in 2 weeks or less…
BUT she was housetrained during the first week here at sleepydogtraining, and just to be on the safe side we continued working with her for a second week to make sure the training stuck. (if we had brought her back to her home too early in the training, she may have regressed.)
we can happily say that this amazing little former puppymill dog is now reliably housetrained!
