DBA SleepyDogTraining is a holistic dog training/behavior consultation business, We specialize in private sessions which consist of basic obedience combined with behavioral protocol and rehabilitation (if needed). Each dog is an individual and each owner is as well, so I tailor your dog training sessions to meet the needs of you and your dog. My clients love the results they see after only one session. Although I may be called in to work with one dog, We may also work with all of the dogs/pets in the family, if needed, at no additional cost. Sarah, the Owner and Trainer has a Masters Degree in Education and many years of experience working with canine and human students (among others!).

Hello, my name is melissa and I have three dogs. Two are pit bulls and one of those pit bulls jumps our 6foot privacy fence. She chews our shoes. She is just bad. Her sister. The other pit bull digs and digs and won’t stop. I live in goose creek South Carolina. If we can’t get them to behaive then we will have to get rid of them. And pit bulls don’t get adopted. We love them but they’re troublesome.
hi melissa, i’m happy to help you. have you done any training with your pitty girls? how many walks do you take them on per day and how long is each walk? you definitely need to work on boundary control, and management, which could include making a boxed in area in your yard full of sand that the dogs could get their digging yaya’s out in. you’d also need to work on a solid foundation of basic obedience skills inside and outside. don’t forget about the behavioral work necessary for good dog behavior, as well. i need to see that to tell you more. you can resolve the behaviors you are having trouble with. maybe you can send me a video of your dogs or we can skype on facebook? i’d really like to help you. please don’t surrender your dogs to a shelter. they will be killed there.
I’m sure your dogs are trained by now, but you can always get coyote rollers for your fence

Hello, I have a pit/boxer mix, Zeus, is a male 2 1/2 yrs. old hes very attached to me and when we (my husband and I) leave for a weekend away he goes into depression mode (wont eat drink or even poop) trying to get out more during the week w/him left at home for 1/2 hour at a time, he sits on the chair facing the window and doesn’t move until I’ve arrived home. hes very playful lovable and gets plenty of attention from all four of us, mom dad and two boys, I hate to even go out knowing hes so sad and cannot come with. We have had two sessions on behavior training, hes done great (except for a little jumping w/ new arrivals at the door and very excited when babies are here to a point of we have to put him in his crate.) Hello …I have a female malshi dog who is just about 1 1/2 years old now she seems to be OCD she constantly barks at other dogs when we are walking her except for maybe her own breed.. lately she’s been running out the front door compulsively and this makes trouble because she well play tag run into the street and start making circles around other dogs who are being walked and barking Non-Stop at them and their walkers …she doesn’t bite but it does intimidate and it is very embarrassing for us …she is walked often we have many people in our house and she has a lot of attention so we’re trying to figure what is causing this it seems also to be a game with her… we discipline her afterwards and put her on a sort of timeout sitting in the bathroom with the door shut for at least 10 minutes. Which she hates.. but it really doesn’t make any change… we thought about fencing in our front yard but all members of our family are not in agreement with this.. if you have any tips will be much appreciated

putting her in a 10 minute time out wont do anything but confuse her. you need hands on training and behavior modification by an experienced trainer, like me…

Hi Sarah! I just searched my records for your card so that I could refer you to a neighbor who has a newly adopted 3 yr old golden. The dog is pitifully sweet, but skittish, other problems I won’t waste time on here – I encouraged her to call you! I just also wanted to say how much you helped us with our Doberman rescue in 2013 (“Chance” was a 3 yr old, overweight, never-exercised, mouthy, spoiled bagel thief lol). He would steal things off the kitchen table; bark at us for minutes on end when we wouldn’t let him on the bed; he pulled terribly while on leash and many other issues. It was amazing to watch you work with him and help me to help him! He was the most wonderful dog we ever had – and we’ve had many over the last 40+ yrs. Everyone who met Chance – even my mother in law (who is NOT a dog person at all) absolutely 100% fell in love with him. He developed cancer and heart trouble in 2018 and we put him down Oct 1, 2018 after medical intervention that gave us and him about 7 more months together. We all miss him terribly and we thank you for helping us with him so that everyone who met him was able to fully enjoy his wonderful, sweet personality.

I have a 4 year old male and neutered German shepherd. His name is Duke. He is very high driven, has anxiety. He’s too rough with children and doesn’t like them. He has actually nipped a child before. He doesn’t like all the loud noises and running around they do. It makes him nervous and aggressive. He has a bad habit of spinning and ripping his tail fur out when he’s anxious and we cannot get him to stop. We don’t want to have to rehome him but sadly it feels like our last option unless we can get someone to properly train him. He is a great dog he just was not socialized properly.
